SEBI issues Circular on Streamlining of issuance of SCORES Authentication
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11(1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued and published notification / Circular No. SEBI/HO/OIAE/IGRD/CIR/P/2021/642 on the 14th of October, 2021, “Streamlining issuance of SCORES Authentication for companies intending to list their securities on SEBI recognised stock exchanges.”
SEBI has agreed to create an online system for all “businesses wanting to issue their securities on SEBI authorised stock exchanges” to earn SCORES credentials. On the SCORES website, www.scores.gov.in, you can fill out an online form.
This was done as part of SEBI’s green effort and to speed up the resolution of investor complaints against businesses before they are listed.
Companies must include a declaration on the letterhead of the company, signed by the Compliance Officer, with the online form.
A declaration that an application to list its securities with the stock exchange has been submitted and that it has received in- principle approval to list its securities from the stock exchange.
The SCORES credentials will be emailed to the Compliance Officer/Dealing Officer’s e-mail address given on the online form.
As a result, as per SEBI Circular No. CIR/OIAE/1/2014 dated December 18, 2014, businesses are no longer obliged to produce a physical copy of Form-A or e-mail it to the regulator.
The Online Form comes with a paper that explains how to use it. Circular is enclosed for reference:
