Selling sharpener with a pack of pencils will attract higher GST, Rules Gujarat AAR A new update on the GST on pencils and sharpeners has been released. The Gujarat AAR has explained why more GST is required for pencils and sharpeners. According to the Gujarat AAR, pencils sold with sharpeners will be subject to a higher GST rate than pencils sold alone. Because Mixed Supply requires a higher GST rate. If they are sold separately, there will be less GST to pay. Businesses sell either stand-alone goods or goods and services in combination. The bundled supply is supplied in two parts, mixed and whorally. The supply of two or more goods at the same price is referred to as mix supply. On the other hand, if we talk about overall supply, it includes two or more goods or services. Company gave details

If we were to discuss taxing these two, the tax on mix supply would be determined based on the highest rated goods or services. Tax is applicable to the entire supply if we're talking about tax on all supplies. Doms Industries, based in Ambergaon (Gujarat), has reportedly presented the specifics of its three products, according to sources. One is a pencil with an eraser and a sharpener; the second is a colouring book, pencil, coloured pencil, oil pastel, plastic crayon, wax crayon, eraser, scale, and sharpener; the third is a pencil, eraser, scale, and sharpener, etc.

Product may be sold separately

The Finance Ministry implemented an 18% GST for sharpeners in July of last year on the advice of the GST Council. Each product item cannot be supplied individually for the purpose of trade, according to the GAAR. Additionally, each may be sold separately. This indicates that supplies for both pencils and pencil sharpeners fall into the category of "mixed supplies." According to GAAR, tax will have an impact on both the sharpener and the nominally priced kit. For Official Ruling Download PDF Given Below:
