SGST Tax Inspector get caught in Anti-Corruption Bureau Web The Anti-Corruption Bureau detained a tax inspector on Tuesday for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complaint at the office of the State Goods and Services Tax (GST) Commissioner here. Accused Vishal Babu Hapate (35), a resident of the district's Hatkanagale tehsil town, who was working as a GST tax inspector (class-2) at the State Tax Commissioner GST Bhavan, Kasaba Bavda, Kolhapur, demanded Rs.10,000 as a bribe from the complainant for not taking legal action against his businessman friend for not paying GST, according to an official press release. However, the complaint alerted the city section of ACB, whose squad set up a trap at the GST office in the afternoon and caught Hapate red-handed with bribe money, according to the report.
