Overview:

TATA is hiring an experienced Assistant Officer – Procurement at their Bangalore location. The role acts within the Procurement organization, with responsibility for timely delivery of Engineering material, spares, consumables, capex- requirements related services to the factories, CFA’s & other business verticals. The focus of the role is to deliver the right materials at the right time to the right place, with the right quality.

Roles and responsibilities:

The ideal candidate should be able to:

• Purchase of consumables, engineering materials, spares and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Developing alternative supply options and other mitigation plans for areas where shortages are envisaged.
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
• Monitoring Consumable stocks in SAP, run MRP & get PR from plant & raise PO for the same.
• Taking PR dump from SAP or any other souring ERP/tool and understanding the user requirement
• Sending RFP/RFQ to suitable vendors.
• Follow-up for quotes
• Sharing quotes with user for technical suitability
• Against technical suitability, complete negotiation activity and select the right vendor at right spend.
• Taking approval on commercial activity and vendor selection with reasoning.
• Ensure Purchase Orders are approved in line with business policy
• Email the Purchase Order to the supplier and the user as and when approved by business
• Ensure Receipt of order confirmation and track.
• Ensure delivery as per the agreed timeline.
• In case of rejection/discrepancy, coordinate with user & vendor to resolve issues.
• Coordinating with finance to have a healthy payment disbursal to vendors, any issues arising in the process to be tackled in an agile manner.
• Open PO reconciliation with Vendors
• Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
• Attending weekly calls with plants & understand the requirements, issues, and challenges & making MOM of same & resolve before next weekly meeting

Eligibility:

• Proven working experience in the procurement function
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
• Talent in negotiations and networking
• Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data
• Preferred technical knowledge on Engg materials.
• Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• ERP knowledge – SAP, Zycus
• Minimum 3+ years of Procurement experience in Manufacturing, Heavy Engg, FMCG, FMEG preferred
• Technical Diploma/Degree.
