Tax Bar Association, Jodhpur files PIL with High Court Demanding Tax Audit Due Date extension
On September 19, the Tax Bar Association, Jodhpur, filed a Public Interest litigation (D.B. Civil Writ (PIL) Petition No. 18593/2025) before the Hon'ble Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur, Addressing the ongoing technical issues and repeated glitches in the Income Tax e-filing portal that continue to obstruct the smooth filing of Tax Audit Reports.
The case was mentioned for urgent listing. And the High Court was pleased to grant a same-day hearing by considering the urgency and seriousness of the issues raised. The Rajasthan Court heard the case in detail and expressed its displeasure over the constant technical glitches in the evidence shown by the Petitioner Association through several screenshots and proofs.
The Rajasthan Court has instructed the Respondent Department to seek specific directions, specifically regarding the grievances raised- "particularly the extension of the due date for filing Tax Audit Reports"- in light of the ongoing portal-related difficulties.
The Next Date of Hearing is scheduled for September 24, 2025.
