How to Lock and Unlock Aadhar Card?

1. First of all visit the official website of UIDAI (https://uidai.gov.in/).
2. Go to My Aadhaar and select Lock/Unlock Biometrics option under ‘Aadhaar Services’.
3. Enter 12-digit Aadhaar number or 16-digit Virtual ID.
4. Enter the captcha code and click on send OTP.
5. Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
6. Click on the option to Lock/Unlock Biometric Data.
7. Now your biometric data will be locked.

Things to Keep in Mind

Before locking the Aadhar card, you must generate its virtual ID, because after the Aadhar card is locked, you will need the virtual Aadhar number in the work related to KYC.
