Torrent Pharmaceuticals Gets Rs 41.33 Crore Central GST Penalty for Export Refund Discrepancy
Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited recently issued a regulatory filing to BSE Ltd and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd regarding disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company added that a penalty order dated November 26, received on November 27, 2025 from the Joint Commissioner, Common Adjudicating Authority, Central GST, Ahmedabad South Commissionerate.
Demand order was passed under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, imposing a penalty of Rs 41,33,84,165 for breach of erroneous refund by Department on the export of goods.
The company further added that it plans to appeal the decision. They are hopeful it will be overturned and don’t expect it to have any material financial impact on the company’s finances.
