The complainant claimed that the accused GST Superintendent had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 to help approve a GST registration. After negotiation, he agreed to accept Rs 15,000. To catch the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 15,000, the CBI laid a trap. During the trap operation, the involvement of the GST Inspector from Ranipet Range also came to light. When the accused became aware that CBI officials were present at the crime location, he tried to hide the bribery amount by throwing it into the toilet and flushing it.
