UltraTech Cement Receives Rs. 390.95 Crore GST Demand Order from Tax Authority
The UltraTech Cement Limited, an Indian multinational building materials company and the flagship cement firm of the Aditya Birla Group, received a demand order of Rs 3,90,95,58,194 along with interest of Rs 27,68,289 by the Joint Commissioner of Central Tax and Central Excise, Patna.
This disclosure was made by UltraTech Cement Limited under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 ("SEBI Regulations"). Through which, the company informed about the receipt of the demand order on December 19, 2025.
The company added that the order was issued alleging short payment of GST and incorrect use of Input Tax Credit (ITC) for the period from 2018-19 to 2022-23, without properly considering the explanations and documents submitted by the company.
The company further added that it is currently reviewing the order and considering all legal options as well to take appropriate steps. It also stated that there is no significant impact on financial, operational, or other activities of the company.
