UPSC Recruitment 2022: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought Applications from the Applicant Officers deemed to be Eligible in reference to the Investigator Grade-I Post in the Labour Bureau, Chandigarh, Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE). The UPSC notified 12 Vacancies including 04 Posts are earmarked for the Un-Reserved Category in respect of the Post Investigator Grade-I to be filled in Labour Bureau vide Ministry of Labour and Employment Recruitment 2022.

Amongst the Eligible Officer Applicants, who deem to have fulfilled the Eligibility for the Post Investigator Grade-I under General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial Post, hence, and are willing to apply may proceed with Online Recruitment Application (ORA) Process within the Prescribed Timeline.

Upper Age Limits: General Merit Candidates Must Not Exceed 30 Years. The EWS Candidates should also not exceed 30 Years. However, the Upper Age Limits applicable to other Reserved Communities are explained in the Appended Appended Recruitment Notification. Upper Age Limits remain Relaxable for the Regularly Appointed Central/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the Government of India issued Instructions/Orders from time to time. For Age concessions applicable to other categories of Applicants, ‘Instructions and Additional Information for the Candidates about the Recruitment by Selection are available for viewing of the Candidates.

As regards Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be Upper Age is relaxable by 05-years subject to the condition that on the closing date for receipt of Applications the continuous Service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex-Serviceman is Minimum 06 (Six) Months Post-attestation. This Upper Age relaxation is also available to ECOs/SSCOs who have completed their Initial Period of Assignment of 05 (Five) Years of Military Service and whose Assignment has been extended beyond Five Years as on the End Date of Online Registration of Application and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues Certificates that they will be released within 03 Months on Selection from the Date of Receipt of Offer of Appointment. The Candidates claiming Age relaxation under this Para would need to submit/produce their respective Certificates in the prescribed Proforma to the Union Public Service Commission.

Essential Qualification(s): The Competent and Eligible Applicants willing to apply for the Investigator Grade-I Post should have in possession the following Essential Qualifications:

i) A Post-Graduate Degree in any of the Subjects Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics, from any Duly Recognized University/Institute or Equivalent; Or

ii) A Post-Graduate Degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Commerce with 01 Paper in Economics from any duly recognized University/Institute or Equivalent thereto.

Note 1: The UPSC at its discretion, may relax the afore-stated Qualifications in case of the Candidates, otherwise, well-qualified.

Note 2: The Candidate’s Qualification(s) about the Experience is /are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of those belonging to the Scheduled Caste Community, if at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that the sufficient number of the candidates from this Community having the Requisite Experience are Unlikely to be available for filling up the vacancies reserved for them.

UPSC Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria:

Note-I: The Union Public Service Commission adopted Recruitment Methodology in respect of the Post Investigator Grade-I likely to be exercised shall remain as explained in the subsequent Sections.

Note-II: The Union Public Service Commission, in the event of Applications received in large number from the Applicants, shall likely adopt the Shortlisting Criteria aimed at restricting the number of Eligible Candidates to be called for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:

a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) in case more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.

b) On the basis of Higher Educational Qualification(s) than the Minimum Prescribed in the Advertisement.

c) On the basis of Higher Serving Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum Experience prescribed in the Advertisement.

d) By counting the Prior Professional Work-Experience Prior to or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications.

e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).

Hence the Candidates should mention all their respective Qualifications and Experiences in the relevant Fields over and above the Minimum Qualifications in the Online Application Format.

Note-III: Important Points:

Viva-voce / Personality Test weighs Total 100 Marks explained as hereunder:

i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is made only through an Interview or by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Interview, shall remain as follows:

a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks. b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks. c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks, c) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 40 Marks.

ii) In cases where Selection is made by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to achieve the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories at the Interview Stage.
