Vodafone Idea slapped with GST Notice for Bogus ITC Claim: Company plans to file appeal
Vodafone Idea Limited recently sent a regulatory filing to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE) on November 14, 2025, regarding Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company disclosed that they received an order on November 13, 2025, from Assistant Commissioner (ST), Sholinganallur, Tamil Nadu, under Section 73 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, along with a penalty of Rs 2,963,444 and interest as applicable for allegedly availing bogus Input Tax Credit (ITC).
However, the company mentioned that it does not agree with the order and will further take appropriate actions for filing an appeal against the same. And the maximum financial impact is to the extent of tax demand, interest, and penalty levied.
