16513 Companies including 878 One Person Companies Registered under the Companies Act in May 2022

There were 23,50,348 Companies registered under the Companies Act as of May 31, 2022. According to Section 455 of the Companies Act,2013, of these, 8,33,774 companies were closed, 7,034 were in the process of being liquidated, 40,990 were in the process of being struck off the register, and 2,432 had already attained the "dormant" status. There are 14,66,118 active businesses, including 2,56,191 that were formed eighteen months prior (not due for Annual Statutory Fillings) In May 2022, a total of 16,513 companies, including 878 One-Person Companies (OPCs), had a combined authorized capital of Rs. 2,230.32 crore, were registered under the Companies Act, 2013.
