7.85 crore ITRs filed in FY 23-24 upto 31st October, 2023

As per a press release by Income Tax Department, total Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed in FY 23-24 for all AYs upto 31st October, 2023 stands at 7.85 crore. This is an all-time high record.

Further, more than 7.65 crore returns of income tax were filed for AY 2023-24 (FY 2022-23) upto 31st October 2023 which is 11.7% higher year over year (y-o-y). Out of the 7.65 crore ITRs filed, more than 7.51 crore ITRs have already been verified.

Out of 7.51 crore verified ITRs, 7.19 crore were processed till 31st October 2023. Almost 96% of the verified ITRs were processed.

Income Tax Statutory Forms filed this year stand at over 1.44 crore upto 31st October, 2023.
