Govt. introduced New Provision of filing ITR-U u/s 139(8A)
The Central Government has notified introduction of a new provision of filing Updated Income Tax Returns u/s 139(8A) of the Income-tax Act, 1961 under Finance Act, 2022.
The Income Tax Department has twitted on their Official Twitter Account, “Finance Act 2022 introduced a new provision of filing Updated Income Tax Returns u/s 139(8A) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.”
They also notified that Over 1.55 lakh Updated ITRs have been filed upto 2nd September, 2022.
20000+ taxpayers have filed ITR-U for both 2020-21 and 2021-22 AYs.
