The Allahabad High Court‘s Lucknow bench on Thursday delayed the implementation of its single bench’s ruling, which had found Harish Gidwani, a deputy commissioner of income tax, guilty of contempt of court and sentenced him to seven days in prison and a Rs 25,000 fine.

The appeal of Gidwani was heard by a division bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Renu Agrawal. On December 16, after hearing Prashant Chandra’s contempt petition, the single judge sentenced Gidwani.
