Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023: The Ministry of Defence is inviting applications from eligible male and female candidates for Various Posts at the Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area and Station Headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The posts include Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Cook, Messenger, and Gardener. The salary for these positions ranges from PB Rs 18,000/- to PB Rs 19,900/-, depending on the post, along with other allowances as per Government Orders. The selection process will involve a written test and skill test, and the age limit varies according to the category of the applicant. The SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against General (UR) vacancies are not eligible for age and other concessions meant for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 Official notification, For the post of LDC, applicants must have completed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board or university. For the post of Cook and MTS, applicants must have passed matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board. Applicants applying for the post of Cook must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in the trade. There is no weightage given for higher qualifications, and the examination will consist of objective-type questions.

One candidate can apply for only one post under any category/reservation, and applications from the same candidate for different posts are liable to be rejected. Central Government Civilian Employees must furnish a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer/office at the time of the skill test, or their candidature will be canceled.

Age Limit for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023:

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 Official notification, the age limit for various categories for government jobs in India is based on the reservation system. For the UR category, both male and female candidates should be between 18 and 25 years old. For SC/ST candidates, the age limit is relaxed up to 30 years. OBC candidates should be between 18 and 28 years old. However, those who can produce a non-creamy layer certificate will only be considered for the OBC quota.

Qualification for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023:

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 Official notification, the qualifications required for the different posts advertised are as follows:

For the post of LDC (Lower Division Clerk), a candidate must have passed 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. In addition to this, candidates applying for the post of LDC must also possess typing skills. The typing test will be conducted in either English or Hindi, and candidates must be able to type at a speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.

For the post of Cook and MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff), a candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized board. For the post of Cook, the candidate must also have knowledge of Indian Cooking and proficiency in the trade.

It is important to note that no weightage will be given to higher qualifications. The scheme of examination for all posts will consist of a written test only. The written examination will be objective type, and candidates will be tested on their knowledge of the relevant subject matter.

In addition to the written examination, all candidates will be tested for physical fitness, and only physically fit candidates will be considered. Candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate from an authorized Government Hospital Doctor along with their application.

Selection Process for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023:

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 Official notification, here is a summary of the selection process for the different posts:

For the post of MTS and Cook:

  1. Written Test: The written test consists of four papers – General Intelligence & Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Aptitude, and General Awareness. The time allowed for the written examination is 2 hours, and the maximum marks for each paper is given.
  2. Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates will be issued call letters for Skill Tests, for posts of LDC and Cook only after clearing the written examination, and the merit list will be prepared after qualifying for the skill test. Selection will be made strictly on a final merit basis.
  3. The written test will have questions of the level of Class 10th/12th/ITI as per the essential educational qualification of the respective post. Candidates appearing for the written test would also be subjected to a skill/practical test wherever applicable. The medium of the written test will be Hindi/English only.

For the post of LDC:

  1. Tier – I: Written Test – The written test consists of four papers – Reasoning Ability, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. The time allowed for the written examination is 60 minutes, and the maximum marks for each paper is given.
  2. Tier – II: Session I (2 Hours and 15 minutes) – The written test consists of three sections – Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning and General Intelligence, English Language and Comprehension, and General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge Module. The time allowed for this session is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  3. Tier – II: Session II (10 minutes) – Typing Test: English Typing @ 35 w.p.m on the computer (or) Hindi Typing @ 30 w.p.m. on computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute corresponding to 10500/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions each word.

The appointment will initially be on a temporary basis and likely to become permanent after the successful completion of a probationary period of two years. The initial appointment will be at Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area, Island Grounds, Chennai – 600 009, and Station Headquarters, Chennai – 600 009. Thereafter the individual is likely to be posted anywhere in India. The above posts are subject to all India Service Liability, including field service.
