Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), a company incorporated by NHAI to carry out Electronic Tolling, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve spread across the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to facilitate a seamless and efficient entry process for vehicles entering the forest area.

The initiative aims to provide FASTag based payment system at Forest entry points and will extend the benefit of collection of Ecosystem Management Coordination (EMC) fee via FASTag at various entrance points of the Tiger reserve.

The FASTag system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to facilitate automatic toll payments at toll plazas, and FASTag affixation on all 4-wheelers and above vehicles is mandatory throughout India. Visitors can skip long lines and delays at forest entry gates by enabling FASTag-based payments, letting them to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of these places without any inconveniences.

This collaboration between IHMCL and the Forest Department is an important step towards encouraging sustainable tourism and conserving natural resources by reducing motor emissions at forest entry points.
