The SGST department’s mobile wing confiscated 21 cartons of goods that did not have any genuine documentation or invoices, during an examination on the platforms and parcel area of Ludhiana railway station on Wednesday.

According to a mobile wing department source, the majority of the confiscated containers contained mobile accessories and clothes.

“All seized cartons have been transported to the head office of the SGST mobile wing in Dugri, where the contents of these cartons will be physically verified. Once the verification is finished, a penalty will be imposed on the traders to whom the goods were to be delivered,” the source stated.

The department also performed a surprise inspection at the railway station on monday. It seized 46 boxes of goods without a bill of shipping. These cartons too had arrived by trains coming from Delhi side and contained mobile accessories, tobacco products, and garments.
