The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Principal Chief Material Manager, North Eastern Railway for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.3 Lakh from the Complainant.

CBI arrest North Eastern Railway Manager in a Bribery Case of Rs.3 Lakh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Principal Chief Material Manager (IRSS: 1988), North Eastern Railway (NER), Gorakhpur for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.Three Lakh from the Complainant.

A complaint was filed against the Principal Chief Material Manager (IRSS: 1988), NER, Gorakhpur, alleging that he demanded an undue advantage of Rs.7 lakh for not cancelling the Complainant’s firm’s registration on the GeM Portal.

It was further alleged that the Complainant’s firm was supplying trucks to Railways on yearly contract @ Rs. 80,000 per truck per month.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused on accepting undue advantage of Rs.3 lakh from the Complainant.

Searches were conducted at the accused’s official and residential premises in Gorakhpur and Noida (Uttar Pradesh), resulting in the recovery of Rs. 2.61 crore (approx.) in cash and incriminating documents.

The arrested accused is being produced before the Competent Court ,Lucknow.
