The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) provisional payroll data reveals that 19.88 lakh new employees have been added in the month of July, 2023.

The Union Cabinet Minister (Environment, Forest & Climate Change; and Labour & Employment) Bhupender Yadav has also shared this news via his Twitter account.

He wrote, “नए भारत में नए अवसर! 19.88 lakh new workers enrolled under ESIC in the month of July.”

In the month of July 2023, approximately 27,870 new establishments were registered and brought under the social security umbrella of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, ensuring greater coverage.

Data clearly shows that more jobs have been created for the nation’s youth, as out of the total 19.88 lakh employees added during the month, 9.54 lakh employees under the age of 25 years account for the majority of new registrations, accounting for 47.9% of the total employees.

In accordance to a gender-based analysis of payroll data, the net enrolment of female members had been 3.82 lakh in July 2023. According to the data, 52 transgender employees have registered for the ESI Scheme in the month of July 2023. It demonstrates ESIC’s commitment to delivering its benefits to all segments of society.

The payroll data is provisional since the data generation is a continuous exercise.
