Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to introduce the Union Budget in Parliament on July 22, according to government sources. Furthermore, the Economic Survey document is expected to be released on July 3.

Sitharaman is expected to become the first finance minister to present seven consecutive Union Budgets, breaking Morarji Desai’s record of six in a row.

Earlier this week, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha would begin on June 24. The session will end on July 3.

During this session, new Lower House members will take oaths, and the Speaker will be elected. President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on June 27 and is expected to explain the new government’s five-year plan.

The first three days of the inaugural session will see the newly elected leaders take oaths and elect the Speaker of the House.

According to Rijiju, the 264th session of the Rajya Sabha would begin on June 27 and end on July 3. Following the President’s address on June 27, Prime Minister Modi is likely to introduce his council of ministers to Parliament.

The prime minister will speak in both Houses of Parliament during the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address.
