Government Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Aniline for 5 Years

An anti-dumping duty was first imposed in February 2021 on imports of Aniline from China, as it was being sold in India at low prices, also known as dumped prices, which was causing harm to the local manufacturers. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) published its final findings in notification number 7/10/2024-DGTR, dated April 22, 2025, and concluded that:

  • Aniline from China is still being imported at dumping prices.
  • These imports at dumped prices are causing harm to the domestic market.
  • The record shows that if the anti-dumping duty is removed now, these dumped imports will continue to harm the Indian market.
  • If the duty is removed, there is a high chance of export diversion from China to India.

Therefore, the authority has recommended that the anti-dumping duty should continue on Aniline imported from China to protect Indian manufacturers. Therefore, the central government, based on the final findings of DGTR, is imposing Anti-dumping duty on the Aniline imported from China PR for 5 years unless it is cancelled, replaced or updated earlier.
