EPFO Commissioner Arrested for Accepting Bribe Worth Rs 1.5 Lakh

In a recent shocking case, a Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, Delhi (West), EPFO, was caught red-handed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for taking a bribe of Rs 1,50,000 from the complainant.

The commissioner is being identified as Jagdish Tambe. As per CBI, the complaint was filed on September 9, 2025, where the complainant claimed that the Regional PF Commissioner-I demanded a bribe of Rs 3,00,000 in exchange for clearing the RDA case in their favour. After negotiations, the accused commissioner agreed to Rs 1.5 Lakh Bribe.

On September 10, the CBI laid a trap and arrested the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I while he was caught accepting a Rs 1,50,000 bribe from the complainant. The investigation is ongoing.

The CBI also urged the public to fight against corruption by reporting cases where they are being asked for bribery. The CBI said that such cases can be filed at the office of CBI, ACB, Delhi, 1st Floor, CBI Building, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, or call on 011-24367887 and mobile No. 9650394847. This shows CBI’s commitment to curb corruption.
