MOF notifies IGST Rate of 18% on specified petroleum operations

The Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), has recently shared a notification dated September 17, 2025 in powers given by Section 25 (1) of the Customs Act, 1962 (52) and section 3 (12) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51).

The Central government Grant exemptions from customs duties on imported goods as it is necessary in the public interest to do so and makes the below-mentioned changes in the notification (No. 50/2017-Customs) of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) dated June 30, 2017.

In the said notification, in the table against S.NO. 404, for the entry in column (5), the entry “18%” will be replaced.

Note: The notification will come into effect from September 22, 2025.
