Welcoming the new GST regime, the E-commerce platform Amazon shared that, during its ongoing Great Indian Festival, the ‘Great Savings Celebration #GSTBachatUtsav‘ helped sellers pass on over Rs 100 crore in GST savings to customers. These savings were available on items like appliances, fashion, daily essentials, and other eligible products.
The vice president of Amazon India, Saurabh Srivastav, said that Amazon has facilitated a smooth transition to the GST regime, starting from September 22, 2025. He also talked about the tools, auto update of tax codes, and training sessions, which have encouraged lakhs of sellers to apply the GST benefits for their customers.
The company said that recent GST cuts played an important role in boosting customer demand during this festive season. Many customers upgraded to high-value appliances, especially kitchen appliances, which saw a 50% increase. The air conditioner sales experienced a growth in double digits compared to last year. The Inverter battery sale was also doubled.
