AICA L1 Course Now Considered for C&AG Points as a Second Qualification
In a development effort for the Chartered Accountants, the AI for Chartered Accountants (AICA) L1 course has officially been recognised as a second qualification for the C&AG (Comptroller and Auditor General) point. This update was shared by CA Akhil Pachori in a post shared on Platform X. He appreciated the efforts of the Central Council Members of ICAI.
The AICA course is offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with the aim of building foundational AI skills for finance and audit. The course duration is usually 3 days with 6 hours per day. Under this course, the CAs are taught about AI tools, machine learning and its practical application in finance, auditing, and tax.
C&AG Points is a scoring system used by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) to enrol CA firms for auditing government entities. The CAG assigns points based on the firm's profile and parameters. The firms having enough required points are considered for statutory audits of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other government bodies.
With this recognition, the CAs who have completed the AICA L1 course can now earn extra CAG Points, which will help them select government audits.
Now, AICA L1 course has been considered for C&AG Points as second qualification
