Anti-dumping duty on imported glazed / unglazed porcelain / vitrified tiles with less than 3% water absorption is extended by the CBIC
Anti-dumping duty was imposed on imports of “Glazed/Unglazed Porcelain/Vitrified tiles in the polished or unpolished finish with less than 3% water absorption” falling under headings 6907 or 6914 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, originating in, or exported from China PR, and imported into India, according to an earlier notification. The above-mentioned anti-dumping duty is in effect until December 31, 2021.
The CBIC has now prolonged the period of anti-dumping duty imposition on subject goods originating in or exported from the subject country until February 28, 2022, unless repealed, superseded, or revised sooner.
“Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (5) of section 9A of the said Customs Tariff Act, and in accordance with rules 18 and 23 of the said rules, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 29/2017-Customs (ADD), dated the 14th June 2017, Specifically, in paragraph 3 of the abovementioned notification, the figures, letters, and word “31st December 2021” shall be replaced with the figures, letters, and word “28th February 2022,” according to the CBIC notification.
