The Karnataka Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested three people, including an Auditor, in connection with the alleged Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment fraud on Monday night.
Chandrakanth Patil, an Auditor and Kalaburagi resident, Prabhu, a candidate, and his father Sharanappa were detained. Kulkarni was apprehended late Monday evening, while the father-son duo was apprehended on Tuesday. Patil was paid Rs 50 lakh in two installments for assisting Prabhu in passing the exams on October 3, last year.
According to reports, Chandrakanth worked as an auditor for Mahanthesh Patil, the former Afzalpur block president of the Congress, and his brother Rudragouda. The police further stated that Prabhu took the PSI exam at the MSI college in Kalaburagi, and that his father Sharanappa allegedly paid money to ensure that his son passed the exam.
