Bajaj Auto has secured relief in a GST dispute after the Commissioner (Appeals), Guwahati, set aside the entire tax demand and penalties.

Bajaj Auto Wins GST Appeal, Rs 3.52 Crore Tax Demand Quashed
Bajaj Auto Ltd has informed stock exchanges that it has received a favourable order from the Commissioner (Appeals), Guwahati, in a GST-related case. The order was received by the company on 8th June 2026.
The case relates to a tax demand raised by the Joint Commissioner, CGST & Central Excise, Guwahati, in October 2025. Bajaj Auto had earlier disclosed the matter to the stock exchanges after receiving the demand order.
In the latest development, the Commissioner (Appeals) has set aside the entire tax demand of Rs 3,51,87,014. The appellate authority has also cancelled the related interest and penalty of about Rs. 35,18,701.
Bajaj Auto is not required to make any payment of the disputed tax, interest and penalty amounts with this order. The company said the order is in its favour and it has informed the stock exchanges as per SEBI's disclosure regulations.
