Banks will remain closed in different states on several holidays for festivals and regional occasions in September 2025, Including as Karma Puja,First Onam, Id-E-Milad, Thiruvonam, Id-e-Milad, Indrajatra, Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi, Navratra Sthapna, the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, and Maha Saptami/Durga Puja. These holidays are also specified in the annual holiday calendar published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
Additionally, banks are also closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month except from Sundays and national and regional bank holidays.
Customers are recommended to check the state-wise holidays list before visiting branches, as holidays differ across regions. However, online banking services will be available across the country.
On following dates banks will be closed:
September 3, 2025 (Wednesday)
Banks will remain shut on September 3, 2025 in Jharkhand for Karma Puja.
September 4, 2025 (Thursday)
Banks will remain shut on September 4, 2025 in Kerala for the First Onam festival.
September 5, 2025 (Friday)
Banks will remain closed on September 5, 2025 in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Manipur, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, New Delhi, Jharkhand, Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Id-E-Milad and Thiruvonam.
September 6, 2025 (Saturday)
Banks will be closed in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh for Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi)/Indrajatra on September 6, 2025.
September 12, 2025 (Friday)
Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar for the Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi on September 12, 2025. EID is celebrated on September 6, 2025.
September 22, 2025 (Monday)
Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan on the occasion of Navrata Sthapna on September 22, 2025.
September 23, 2025 (Saturday)
Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar to remember and celebrate the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on September 23, 2025.
September 29, 2025 (Monday)
Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam and West Bengal to celebrate Maha Saptami and Durga Puja on September 29, 2025.
September 30, 2025 (Tuesday)
Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan, West bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand for Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja on September 30, 2025.
