The Assistant Commissioner of CGST Division imposed a penalty of Rs.1,73,01,027 on Bharti Hexacom for an alleged wrong input tax credit claimed from 2017-18 to 2022-23.

Bharti Hexacom gets Rs.1.73 Cr Penalty Order over irregularities in ITC The Assistant Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax Division, Jaipur East imposed a penalty of Rs.1,73,01,027 on the company for an alleged wrong input tax credit claimed from 2017-18 to 2022-23, according to Bharti Hexacom Limited's regulatory filing. "The Company disagrees with the Order and will take appropriate action(s) for rectification/reversal of the same," the Company stated in an exchange filing. The Company is expected to challenge the order before an appellate authority. The order was issued under section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017. The company received the order on January 20, 2025. The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
