Breaking: CA Firms to be questioned if Tax Evasion is Caught
Now, the firms or business establishments where the Income Tax Department will conduct raids will be questioned, and if documents of large-scale malpractices or tax evasion are discovered, the CA who conducts regular audits of these will also be questioned. If a firm misappropriates crores of rupees in tax, the concerned CA or auditing firm will be questioned as to why questions were not raised in the audit report or why they were not caught.
The situation must be clarified as to how the clean chit was given in the annual or semi-annual audit report to the tax evaders who cheated the government out of crores of rupees. The Income Tax Department issued notices to two Jharkhand CA (Chartered Accountant) firms a few days ago. They were questioned as to why they did not notice any errors during the audit or why they deliberately ignored the errors in the account or book.
If this is the case, strict action will be taken against them as well. Preparations are being made in the coming days to send such notices to many Bihar firms as well. By notifying these CAs, they will also be asked why they did not catch the disturbances of the concerned firm or save them. In recent days, the Income Tax Department conducted extensive raids on other companies, including Amhara Construction Company Limited, for tax evasion.
Aside from accounts and books, large-scale irregularities in tax have been discovered in a variety of other places. The investigation also discovered that the books and accounts in which there was extensive tax rigging were given a clean chit in the audit by the concerned CA or auditing firm. In light of this, the Income Tax Department has devised a strategy to prosecute those who audit businesses that have committed tax evasion. It is currently being implemented.
