CA Arrested in Howrah for Rs. 80 Lakh Job Scam, Used Fake Government Identity The Domjur police in Howrah arrested a chartered accountant named Souvik Pakui on Sunday night. He is accused of cheating people out of more than Rs 80 lakh by promising them jobs in top government departments, claiming he had connections with high-ranking officials. Police caught him while he was coming home in a car with a blue beacon. A serious case has been filed against him, and he was brought to Howrah court on Monday.

A police officer said, A Chartered Accountant (CA) from Domjur, who ran a firm in Andul, was arrested. He used to drive around in cars with red or blue lights on top, which made people respect him because his car had a stamp that looked like it belonged to the Central Government’s finance department. But later, it turned out that the stamp was fake, and the promises he had been making to people were all lies. Souvik had been cheating people for several days by taking money from them on different false excuses. He made people believe his stories and collected money from many locals. On Sunday, some residents of Domjur came to know about his activities. They stopped him, got angry, and started beating him. They also damaged his car, which had a blue beacon, making people think he was an important official.

The police reached the spot in time and rescued him from the crowd. They took him to the police station after receiving complaints from the people who were cheated. After questioning him continuously for several hours, the police arrested Souvik on Sunday night. Souvik was earlier known as a very intelligent student in Domjur’s Parui area.
