The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has issued an advertisement announcing a career opportunity for law and accountancy graduates. The Income Tax Department is inviting applications under the "Young Professional Scheme" to support litigation management.

Educational Qualification
Here is the required essential qualification for this post:- The candidates must be Indian nationals holding a graduate or postgraduate degree in law from recognized universities, or they must be chartered accountants.
- Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in their 3-year LLB or 5-year integrated LLB degree program or a postgraduate degree program or be a qualified chartered accountant.
- The chartered accountants with articleship experience in taxation and law graduates or postgraduates who have worked on research work or projects in taxation will be given preference.
- Additionally, the preference will be given to candidates with skills in information and communication technology (ICT) and good communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Description
The young professionals will work with the office of CsIT(DR) or Sr. DR in the ITAT, where they will be required to:- Study the paper books of the listed cases
- Examine the rulings on which the assessee has relied.
- Search for judgments that have favoured the department.
- Identifying distinguishing facts wherever applicable
- Making the briefing notes and written submissions.
- Carry out research/study on specific points as briefed by the CIT(DR)/Sr. Dr. CIT(DR) (concerned mentors).
Selection Process
The selection process includes two steps.- Screening: In the first stage, the applications will be screened.
- Interview: The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
