CBI arrests NCLT Interim Resolution Professional & 2 others in Bribery Case of Rs.2 lakh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) from the National Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Mumbai, as well as two private individuals, including the proprietor of a Mumbai-based enterprise, in a Rs.2 lakh bribery case.

A complaint was filed against an Interim Resolution Professional (IRP), the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai, and unknown individuals, alleging that they demanded an excessive advantage of Rs.20 lakh for settling the NCLT dispute of the Complainant’s company. It was further said that the accused sought an initial part payment of Rs.2 lakh from the Complainant, out of a total demand of Rs.20 lakh, and assured him that a private person will come to Pune to collect the abovementioned amount.

The CBI set a trap and apprehended the abovementioned private person while taking the Complainant’s initial part payment of Rs.2 lakh. Later, the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) and the Proprietor/Jeweller of Mumbai, who were accused of playing a role in the crime, were apprehended.

Searches were undertaken at the accused’s homes in Pune and Navi Mumbai, resulting in the recovery of damning documents, among other things.

All three arrested suspects are due to appear today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Pune.
