CBI Arrests Senior Accountant in Imphal for Accepting Rs 10,000 Bribe
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Senior Accountant from the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Imphal, Manipur, on November 18, 2025, while he was taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
CBI arrested the accountant after the complainant reported that the Senior Accountant had asked for a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from him in exchange for clearing his MACP file.
On November 18, 2025, the CBI set a trap and caught the accused official while he was taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000. He had originally demanded Rs. 20,000 from the complainant.
However, investigation is still ongoing and searches are being conducted at the locations of the Senior Accountant.
