CBI arrests Two Income Tax officials for accepting Bribe of Rs.60000
The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested two Tax Assistants posted at Income Tax Department, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in a bribery of Rs. 60,000/-.
On the grounds that they conspired and demanded Rs. 1,00,000/- from the Complainant in the matter of TDS certificate pertaining to Complainant, a Senior Tax Assistant working in the office of Addl. CIT, Income Tax, Hyderabad, and another Senior Tax Assistant working in the Income Tax Department, Visakhapatnam, were each charged with a crime. Additionally, it was claimed that after discussion, the accused lowered his demand and ordered the complainant to pay Rs. 60,000.
When the Senior Tax Assistant of the Income Department of Hyderabad demanded and accepted his share of a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the Complainant, CBI set up a trap and caught him in the act. According to him, the other accused's part was paid online. He also was apprehended. At the accused's homes in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, searches were done.
A private individual and an agriculture field officer for the State Bank of India's Nowrozabad branch in the Madhya Pradesh district of Umariya have been detained by the CBI in a separate case involving a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
On the basis of a complaint against an individual, a case was opened. On behalf of the Agriculture Field Officer at State Bank of India, Nowrozabad, District Umariya (MP), it was stated that the accused had requested and sought to extort a bribe from the complainant of Rs. 10,000/- in exchange for the loan of Rs. 5 lakh being approved and issued.
When the accused private person accepted the bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant, the CBI set up a trap and nabbed him. Later, the accused private person's AFO from SBI was also apprehended while taking the same bribe sum from them. On the accused's property, searches were carried out.
All the arrested accused would be produced before the Competent Courts.
