CSL Recruitment 2023: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), is inviting applications from eligible Indian candidates for the post of workmen in various trades on a contract basis. As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, there are 300 vacancies. There are opening in Sheet Metal Worker, Welder, Fitter, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic and Shipwright Wood trades.
As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, selected candidates will be appointed for a tenure of 03 years. Candidates applying for the above-mentioned job post should be below the age of 30 years. Selected candidates will get Rs. 23300 in 1st year of the contract. Candidates applying for the above-mentioned job post have to pay Rs. 600 as an application fee. Candidates will be selected in 2 phases (Phase I – Objective type online test and Phase II Practical Test). Welder
Candidates should have Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Welder/ Welder (Gas & Electric).
Fitter
Candidates should have Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter.
Mechanic Diesel
Candidates should have Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Diesel.
Mechanic Motor Vehicle

As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, selected candidates will be appointed for a tenure of 03 years.
As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates applying for the above-mentioned job post should be below the age of 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates in posts reserved for them. The upper age limit shall be relaxable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) & Ex-servicemen as per Government of India guidelines subject to a maximum age of 45 years.
As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates will be selected in 2 phases (Phase I – Objective type online test and Phase II Practical Test). The objective type test will be administered in several test locations in Kerala or in Kochi, depending on the volume of online applications, as determined by CSL. While completing their online application, applicants have the option to select Kerala test centres for the online exam. The selection of the exam site will be made solely at CSL’s discretion. The object-oriented type A 35-minute online test with 30 multiple-choice questions will be divided into two parts: general (Part A, worth 10 points), and trade-related (Part B, worth 20 points). One mark is assigned to each question. There cannot be any failing grades. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Phase-II Practical test when they successfully complete the certificate verification. The Phase II Practical test shall be held at CSL, Kochi.
As per the CSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates applying for the above-mentioned job post have to pay Rs. 600 as an application fee. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) need not pay an application fee. They are exempted from payment of the application fee.
