Age Limit: 56 Years

Eligibility for Department of Posts Recruitment 2023:

Essential:

i) Possession of a Valid Driving License for Motor Cars;

ii) Knowledge of Motor Mechanisms (The Candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the Vehicle)

Educational Qualification: 10th Pass

Experience: Experience of driving any Motor Car for Minimum 03 Years

Desirable: 03 Years’ Service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteer.

I) Deputation/Absorption Basis:

From amongst the Regular Dispatch Rider (Group ‘C’) and Group ‘C’ Employees in Level-1 of the Pay Matrix in the Department of Posts with a Valid Driving License in possession for Motor Cars on the basis of a Driving Test to assess the competence to drive Motor Cars failing which from
Officials holding the Post of Dispatch Rider on a Regular Basis or Regular Group ‘C’ Employees in the Level in other Ministries/Departments of the Central Government who fulfill the necessary Qualifications as mentioned in Column 6 of the Department of Post Recruitment 2023 Vacancy Notice.

II) Deputation or Re-employment for Armed Forces Personnel:

The Armed Forces Personnel due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of 01 Year and having the Requisite Experience and Qualifications prescribed shall also be considered. Such persons would be given Deputation terms up to the date on which they are due for release from the Armed Forces; thereafter they may be continued on Re-employment.

Selection Procedure under Department of Posts Recruitment 2023:

Selection on Staff Car Driver Post (Ordinary Grade) will be conducted by Deputation/Absorption.

Deputation Tenure: The Deputation Tenure (Including Short-Term Contractual) including the Deputation (ISTC) Period in another Ex-Cadre Post held immediately preceding this Appointment in Similar/some other Organization/Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed 03 (Three) Years.

The Tenure of Appointment on Deputation shall be Initially for 03-Years or until Further Orders, whichever being Earlier. Other Terms and Conditions of Service shall be governed by the Office Memorandum No. 6/8/2009-Establishment (Pay-II) dated 17th June 2010 (17.06.2010), as amended from time to time in view of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Recruitment Board 2023 Notification.
