Based on the Department of Science and Technology Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Eligibility Criteria for Scientist ‘D’ Post is as follows:
The Scientists or Technologies working under the Central Government Or State Government Or Accredited Universities or Recognized Research Institutions or Semi-Government Or Statutory/Autonomous Bodies in India Or Abroad holding Analogous Posts on a Regular Basis in the Parent Cadre of Department with 05 Years’ Service in the Grade rendered Post-Appointment in the Prescribed Pay Level 11.
Essential Educational Qualification and Experience: Master’s Degree in Physics from any Accredited University or Equivalent with 08 Years’ Experience in the Research & Development in the industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations or Scientific Activities and Services, out of which 04 Years should be in Science and Technology Program, Planning, Development and Cooperation.
Desirable: Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D)/Doctorate in Physics from any Accredited University/Equivalent.
Selection for Scientist ‘D’ Posts will be carried through By Deputation (ISTC).
The Period of Deputation, including Deputation Period in another Ex-Cadre Post held immediately preceding this Appointment in the same or some other Organization/Department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed 03, which stands Extendable up to 05 Years with the Approval of the Competent Authority.
