As per GIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the minimum age required to apply for the position of Assistant Manager – Company Secretary at GIC Re is 21 years. The maximum age limit for the candidates is 30 years as of 01.03.2023. This means that candidates born not earlier than 02.03.1993 and not later than 01.03.2002 are eligible to apply for the post.
However, there are certain relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to specific categories. Candidates belonging to Schedule Caste or Scheduled Tribe are provided a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Other Backward Class (eligible for reservation) candidates are provided a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit. Persons with Disabilities are provided a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit. Ex-Servicemen or Disabled Ex-Servicemen are eligible for an actual period of service rendered in the defense forces plus 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age limit of 45 years.
Widows, Divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried are provided a relaxation of 9 years in the upper age limit. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89 are provided a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Existing confirmed employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies (including GIC & Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd.) are provided a relaxation of 8 years in the upper age limit.

As per GIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection procedure for the above post consists of three stages: Preliminary Screening, Interview, and Medical Examination. Initially, the candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Preliminary Screening. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview conducted by the Corporation, which may be conducted virtually as well. The date, time, venue, and center of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates at a later stage. The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the Interview and the medical examination.
The Corporation may change the date, time, venue, or center of the Interview or hold supplementary processes for a particular session or set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances. The seniority of the selected candidates will be as per the merit list, and a waiting list of candidates may also be prepared and utilized in the event of non-acceptance of employment offered by the selected candidates. However, the decision of offering an appointment to the candidates from the waiting list is at the discretion of the management.
