Government Authorises DRAT Chennai Chairperson to Decide Specific Appeal of DRAT Mumbai The Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services) recently issued a notification (No. F. No. 09/07/2026-DRT) on March 5 regarding the additional charge assigned to the Chairperson of DRAT Chennai to hear a specific appeal matter of DRAT Mumbai. The Central Government has used its legal power under subsection 3 of section 8 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993, to give a special temporary responsibility.
MCA Notifies Amendment to ROC Establishment Effective Date
The Chairperson of the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), Chennai, is authorised to act as the Chairperson of Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal, Mumbai, for deciding a specific appeal case, "Bharti G. Patel vs Punjab National Bank & Others (Misc. Appeal Diary No. 1683 of 2025 and related matters)". The person will continue to be the Chairperson of DRAT Chennai but additionally handle this case that belongs to DRAT Mumbai.
