Government Extends GSTR-3B Filing Deadline [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) had issued a notification (No. 01/2026 – Central Tax dated 21st April, 2026), announcing the due date extension of GSTR-3B filing for March 2026.

As per this notification, taxpayers were given a one-day extension, i.e., until 21 April 2026, to file their GSTR-3B filing for March 2026. This extension applies to registered persons who are required to file returns under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

The extension was granted by the Commissioner under section 39(6) of the CGST Act, based on the recommendations of the GST Council.

The extension gave much-needed relief to the taxpayers as they got extra time to complete filing and avoid late fees.
