Govt Considers One-Day Extension to Monthly GSTR-3B Filing Due Date Amid Portal Glitches The Goods and Services Network (GSTN) has expressed strong regret for the technical glitches experienced yesterday in the portal while filing the GSTR-3B. Consequently, as per the feedback received from GSTN, the Government has planned to grant a one-day extension in the due date for filing GSTR-3B for the month of March 2026. Meaning, the deadline has been decided to be extended for one day, i.e., from April 20 to April 21, 2026.

This update has been shared by the GSTN on the GST portal, reading, "Based on Feedback from GSTN, Government is considering extension of due date of GSTR-3B for the month of March 2026."

However, this is just a proposal; no official confirmation has been shared by the GST authorities regarding the same yet. Hence, taxpayers are advised to frequently check the GST portal for the latest updates or a formal notification. Taxpayers must not fail to furnish a GST return, because this is considered a serious non-compliance under Section 47 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017, and can attract late fees and interest, as per Section 50 of the Act, 2017.
