The Government of Maharashtra has temporarily reduced the VAT rate under Schedule B, Entry 6 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002.

Government of Maharashtra Notifies VAT Reduction from 18% to 7% on aviation fuel
The Finance Department (Mumbai) recently issued a notification on May 14, 2026, regarding an amendment in the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002.
The Government of Maharashtra, using its power under sub-section (1) and section 9 of the act, has reduced the VAT rate under Schedule 'B', Entry 6 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002.
Earlier, the tax rate mentioned in column (3) of Entry 6 was 18%. Now, for a temporary period from 15th May 2026 to 14th November 2026, this rate has been reduced to 7%.
