Govt Notifies New Regional Directors and Jurisdictions in MCA Across India Under Companies Act, 2013
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) under the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has recently issued an official notification [F. No. A-11/1/2024-Ad.II, MCA], dated October 23, 2025, informing that the Central Government is replacing an earlier notification of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), dated November 03, 2015 (G.S.R. 832(E)). The government has done this replacement in exercise of its powers granted under sub-section (1) of section 396 of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013).
According to the notification, the Central Government has set up new Regional Directors (RDs) in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (as stated below). These Regional Directors (RDs) will perform all the duties and powers given to them under the Companies Act, 2013, or any powers that the Central Government gives them. Each Regional Director will have a specific area of jurisdiction (area of governance), which is clearly mentioned in the table below.
