The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out a major action against corruption in Gujarat. It arrested Mukeshkumar Manbodh Kumar, a CGST Superintendent in Rajkot, along with Akash Kaloliya, a private tax consultant. They were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh to settle a fraud investigation.
Trap Planned After Complaint
The ACB took action after a citizen filed a complaint and refused to pay the bribe.- The trap was set on April 28th, 2026.

How the Bribe Deal Happened
The case started when the CGST officer allegedly demanded Rs 25 lakh. He wanted the money to close an investigation related to unpaid GST and fake billing, and then both sides agreed on Rs 20 lakh.
