During the hearing, the applicant stated that the delay occurred due to his wife’s ill health. He stated that he was occupied with her treatment and follow-up care, which caused the delay in submitting the application. On the other hand, the respondent's advocate argued that the delay had not been properly explained and should not be condoned. He also informed the court that the related Letters Patent Appeal No. 1077 of 2021 is scheduled for hearing on March 17, 2026. High Court's Ruling After considering all the circumstances and facts, the high court found the explanation satisfactory and decided to condone the 44-day delay. The High Court said this decision does not mean the applicant can ask for more delays in the future or refuse to cooperate during the appeal process.
