Hindustan Unilever gets GST orders for disallowing GST Credit worth Rs.1.48 Crore

The Hindustan Unilever Limited has received an order from the Office of the Commissioner (Appeals), CGST, Central Excise and Customs, Guwahati, and the Office of the Commissioner (Appeals), CGST, Customs, and Central Excise, Madhya Pradesh, according to an exchange filing.

The Order-in-Appeal has been obtained under Section 107 in relation to a claim made under Section 73(9) of the CGST Act 2017.

The authority has disallowed GST credit in the amounts of Rs.1,13,94,112 and Rs.34,26,580, respectively, with penalties of Rs.11,39,411 and Rs.3,42,658.

The fast-moving consumer products company is expected to oppose the Orders.

“The indication of tax payable has no major influence on the Company’s finances, operations, or other activities. The Orders are currently appealable, and we will consider exercising our right to appeal,” Hindustan Unilever Limited stated in the exchange statement.
