How to Motivate yourself after Failure in CA Exams
FAILURE- A small word, having great impacts. Failure happens. It happens all the time and to everyone. It depends on how we react to it. Achieving our goals is not at all easy. Sometimes while walking, we hit obstacles that seem like failure. But it is not so. The main thing is how we interpret this obstacle. Imagine a person, who never failed in his life. How dull his life would seem. Failure is simply a stepping-stone on your way to success. Of course, this doesnt mean that it is easy to deal with or should be taken lightly, but how you deal with failure will determine not only your future success, but also how easy it will be to achieve.
Ever seen a child learning to ride a bicycle Or you can remember your own days when you learnt to ride a bicycle. The child falls many times before he actually learns to ride the same. The first time he falls, he gets up again with a hope that he will save himself from falling in his next attempt. But again he falls down and this process continues until he becomes perfect in learning to ride a bicycle. Mistakes are learning opportunities. It takes failure after failure to achieve success.
Failure, like many other things, is something we have got used to through the years. To some it has become a lifestyle, an ingrained habit we just cant break ourselves of, if we dont have the right mindset. The greatest example, when it comes down to failure, is the American inventor Thomas Edison. He failed more than 10000 times before achieving the success of inventing a light bulb!!!! Just imagine the great man and the sort of strength, the hope that he had. This makes him a true example of perseverance. Thomas Edison says I have not failed. Ive just found 10000 ways that wont work. Through this he makes us realise that we need to learn how to fail, before we learn how to succeed.
Not everyone whos on top today got there with success after success. More often than not, those who history best remembers were faced with numerous obstacles that forced them to work harder and show more determination than others.
So here are some tips which might help you to pick yourself up after you fail:-
1. Move Ahead: The first and the foremost thing that you need to do is Move Ahead. Dont just stay in your past, thinking of what you did and what will others think of you. Dont dwell in your past. Your past can never be your present or your future. TRYING ONCE AGAIN is the only alternative to achieve your goals.
2. Learn from your failure: Make your failure, your motivation and not an excuse. Instead, place them under your feet and use it as a stepping stone. Remember that every time you make a mistake, you are one step closer to your goal. Choosing to do nothing after this failure is the biggest mistake you will do. Failure is not falling down, but failure is staying down when you have the choice of getting back up.
3. Start setting goals: Once we fail, dont think about that failure anymore. This failure can help you in setting new goals and strategies and can explain you where the problem was. Make yourself realise, the reason for the failure. Setting goals will enable you to come out of the failure.
4. Maintain a balance in your emotions: A successful person maintains a balance in his emotions at every life challenge. When we are in balance we are happy and well-rounded. We react sensibly to all that is going on around us. This balance brings us happiness and happiness motivates us to wake up the next day.
5. Apply the Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction responds to your thoughts, whatever they may be. Be it a negative or a positive thought, the law of attraction moves along your thoughts. If you keep on thinking that you will never succeed then you will surely fail, but if you start thinking that you will definitely succeed this time then your mind will force you to move towards success.
6. Measure your progress: If you start brushing yourself off and keep moving then you will get another chance to make things right. Remember, no matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isnt trying. Dont waste your time being upset about something you cant change. Start over right now, implement the lessons you have learned from your mistakes, measure your progress and do it better this time.
7. Visualise your dreams: Fight the negative thoughts that creep up after failure by visualizing yourself meeting your goal. Take the time to picture yourself successfully going through each step it will take to reach your goal.
8. Take a small start: Instead of jumping into something at full speed start slow. When you do that your mind will not visualize the task as something hard that you have to do fast. If your mind sees such things, you dont get started. Actually getting started, even if its at a slow pace, is a whole lot better than not getting started at all.
9. Remember to have fun: Enjoying is the best way to keep yourself motivated and relaxed. Always thinking about your goals may create fears and frustrations. Have fun, play games, go to movies and shopping or do the work that you like the most in your free time.
10. Optimistic Attitude: Your optimistic attitude is a must to achieve your goals and keep you away from failure. Remember your successes and let them flow through your mind instead of your failures. Be positive and create positivity all around you.
11. Dont compare yourself with others: Comparing yourself with other people may create a negative impact on you. Comparing what you have and your results to what other people have and have accomplished can really kill your motivation. There are always people ahead of you. You just need to think about yourself and what you actually want to achieve.
12. Life continues: Always remember that life doesnt end when you fail. Your life continues and you have to live. Love what you have and be thankful for what you had. Learn from your mistakes, but dont regret. Life is change, things go wrong, and life goes on.
We all fail at one thing or another. Not one of us is perfect, so inevitably we all do experience failure at some points in our lives. However, successful people dont imagine themselves as failures. Successful people commit to taking personal responsibility for their career success. They set high goals and do whatever it takes to achieve them. They also react positively to the people and events in their lives especially the negative people and events.
